How to send, track, and understand the status of your InPost shipment
Feb 27, 2026

Sending a parcel with InPost is quite simple, but questions sometimes arise: how to create a shipment, where to see shipment tracking, what each status means, or what to do if the parcel doesn't move. In this guide you have the steps to know what to do in each case and resolve it.
What to do depending on your case
- Create a shipment step by step: go to the “Send a shipment” page, fill in the sender's and recipient's details, choose the delivery type, and review the summary before confirming payment.
- Shipment statuses: tracking will change as the parcel progresses, with statuses such as “Picked up by InPost”, “In transit”, “Arrival at the local distribution center”, “Available at the Locker or Punto Pack”, “Last notice”, “Accepted at agency”, or “Delivered”.
- Shipment tracking: you can view it from the tracking link, from our website or directly in the package tracking app if you have the shipment associated.
- Shipping times: delivery times depend on the destination, domestic or international, and the type of service. The average time is 3 business days from when the parcel enters the InPost network for domestic deliveries, and for international deliveries it is 3 to 6 business days, depending on the destination.
- Other issues: if the parcel stops moving, is not updated, appears as delivered and you don't have it, or you get an incident alert, fill out our form explaining your case.
Create a shipment step by step
Before you start, pack the parcel well so it is protected and have the recipient's details ready. Completing all shipment details correctly is the key to making sure everything goes smoothly.
Step by step
- Prepare the parcel: use sturdy packaging and seal it well. If there is empty space inside, add filling so it doesn't move.
- Start the shipment on our website: go to the “Send a shipment” page and follow the online process, it's only 4 steps.
- Receive the label or QR code: at the end, you'll receive by email or SMS a label to print or a QR code to present at the Punto Pack.
- Hand over the parcel: go to the point you chose to drop off your parcel. And here's the important part: keep the tracking number. You'll have it in the email, by SMS, or in the app.
Shipment statuses and what each one means
The tracking statuses tell you where in the process your parcel is. From our website or package tracking app you can check the status in real time. Here's a summary of what each one means: you can check the status in real time.
- Picked up by InPost: the parcel is already in InPost's hands and has started its journey within the network.
- In transit: the parcel is moving between logistics centers. It may take more or less time depending on the distance and, if it's international, depending on the country.
- Arrival at the local distribution center: it has already arrived at the center closest to the destination. From here it usually moves on to the next stage to reach the point or complete delivery.
- Available at the Locker or Punto Pack: good news, it is already at the InPost point. The recipient will receive an alert by SMS, email, or through the app with the PIN or pickup QR code. For domestic shipments you have a 8-calendar-day window to pick up the parcel, although the deadline may vary depending on the destination. Check the table here.
- Last notice: “there's little time left to pick it up” is a reminder that the pickup period is ending. Better not leave it to the last minute.
- Return in progress: the parcel is going back to origin because the pickup period has expired or delivery could not be completed.
- Delivered: the shipment has been completed.

Delivery times: how long a shipment takes
The delivery time depends on the destination, the service, and whether there are holidays or weekends involved.
Quick checklist
1) Check the latest status and the date of the last movement.
2) Delivery times:
- Domestic: the average time is 3 business days from when the parcel enters the InPost network.
- International: the average time is 3 to 6 business days, depending on the destination.
3) If several days have passed and the status doesn't change, fill out our form and tell us your case.
Problems: parcel stuck, not delivered…
If you go into tracking and the shipment doesn't move or wasn't delivered within the expected timeframe, it's best to review the case and act with the information you have on hand.
Parcel stuck or no changes
Sometimes there is no update for a while and then the tracking updates all at once. Before you worry:
- Check whether there was a weekend or holiday.
- Check the latest status. “Parked” may be a normal part of the process.
- If it takes longer than the average delivery time, fill out our form and tell us your case. Have the tracking number, the latest status, and the date of the last movement ready.
It shows as “Delivered”, but I don't have it
- Check whether the shipment is “Ready for pickup”.
- Check whether an authorized person received or picked it up.
- If none of these options apply, fill out our form with the tracking number and what appears in the tracking tool.
The parcel seems lost
If there are no movements for several days and there is no delivery confirmation, report the incident in our form and provide:
- tracking number
- recipient details
- approximate shipment date
