Find out how our Punto Pack shipping service works
At InPost, Punto Pack is one of the most convenient ways to send parcels, since the sender can pick it up within business hours, which are very broad, and in an area close to their home or workplace.
Punto Pack: What exactly is it?
Punto Pack locations are small neighborhood shops (flower shops, newsstands, stationery stores, etc.) that in turn work with InPost and provide parcel drop-off and pick-up services.
If you have made an online purchase and selected Punto Pack to collect your order, all you have to do is go there and present a PIN code along with your ID. The shop owner will look for your parcel in stock and hand it over to you on the spot.
If what you want is to send a parcel through a Punto Pack, the procedure is very similar: you have to prepare your shipment, weigh it and pack it properly, print and attach the label, and take it to the drop-off point. The shop owner will check all the details, scan the barcode, and you will immediately receive an email informing you that your parcel has been accepted into our network. This means that your shipment has passed the first step on the way to its recipient!
In the message we send you from InPost, you will find a link to track your shipment in real time.
How do I prepare my parcel to send it via Punto Pack?
Sending a parcel via Punto Pack is very easy, since most of the process can be done online, from your home or anywhere else where you have Internet access.
Once you have packed the shipment and protected it well, you will need to weigh and measure the parcel. The maximum weight for shipments with InPost is 30 kilos and the maximum allowed length is 120 cm. In addition, the sum of the length, height, and width cannot exceed 150 cm, something important to check to make sure we can ship it.
The next step would be to go to the InPost website and log in. If you don't have an account yet, you can create one here. Then, you would need to go to the Ship a parcel section and fill in all the details requested by the system.
When you enter your postal code in the Delivery method, section, you will see a series of Punto Pack locations near your home, although you can also choose a different one that is close to the recipient's workplace or place of study.
After selecting the drop-off point, the Validate my shipment button will appear, allowing you to access the payment gateway and, once payment is made, download your label. There is something very important to keep in mind: you have to download, print, and attach the label to your parcel. There is some confusion, since there are some Punto Pack locations, almost always copy shops, that provide this service because they want to, but normally they do not. At InPost we are working to ensure there are printers in every Punto Pack, so that the customer can print an adhesive label there, but at this time we do not have an exact date we can announce.
To avoid misunderstandings and not have to make several trips, we recommend that you take care of printing the label and place it correctly on your parcel. We advise using glue and reinforcing it with transparent tape to prevent it from falling off during the journey.
And lastly, you have to take your parcel to a nearby Punto Pack from where its journey to its destination will begin.
And when picking up my order at a Punto Pack, what should I keep in mind?
Picking up an order at Punto Pack is not very complicated. First of all, InPost will inform you by email that your order has already arrived at the drop-off point and that you can go pick it up. In this same message you will have the PIN code so the shop owner can easily locate your parcel.
However, there are two things you should keep in mind:
The opening hours of Punto Pack locations
Find out the opening hours of the selected Punto Pack location. You can do this on our website or on the Google My Business listing for the shop itself.
The length of time your parcel stays at the Punto Pack
You have to keep in mind that parcels stay at Punto Pack locations for eight calendar days. It is important to clarify that these are calendar days, which means Sundays and public holidays are also counted, even though these places may be closed.
After that period of time, the Punto Pack returns the shipment to the sender.
